  1. Roles and Permissions Management

Custom Roles and Permission

Custom roles can be created to tailor the permissions more precisely to your organization's requirements. When creating custom roles, the following rules apply:

  • When a custom role is created, the "View" permission is automatically granted to all predefined child roles if any predefined parent role is chosen. For example, if you create a custom role based on "Connection Owner," users with this role will also have "View" permission for other predefined roles, like "Product Owner" or "Project Admin."

  • During custom role creation, permissions for each predefined role will be provisioned based on the permission hierarchy. For example, if you select "Add" for a predefined role, then "Edit," "Delete," and "View" will be automatically chosen for that role. You can adjust these permissions as needed to align with your organization's requirements.

Custom roles can be a valuable tool for adapting the VeriBOM to the specific needs of your organization. By assigning roles and permissions thoughtfully, you can ensure that users have the right level of access and control over the system's features and functions.
